Hunt - Trip Information

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE DATES

Most trips (opening day or other special arrangements excepted) begin with arrival on Wednesday afternoon of the week of the trip. Comfortably settling in to the lodge, relaxing with you favorite drink, Hors d’oeuvres, and discussion of the hunts to come will occupy the remainder of the afternoon.

Sunday is the usual departure day.

HUNTING SCHEDULES

Hunting begins no sooner than 10:00 am. (South Dakota regulations). Typically, the hunt will involve group hunts in selected grain fields and grass lands and involve walks of from ¼ of a mile to sometimes to as much as a mile in length.

Break for lunch: This can vary from sandwiches in the field to "home cooked" stews, chili, etc. as well as specially prepared pheasant and other wild game at the lodge, which is near all the hunting property.

Return to the field for more action-packed hunting.

Return to the lodge (by about 6:00 PM) if not limited out sooner. Clean up for evening events (favorite drinks, discussion of the days action, evening meal plans).
